Please follow the following steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To\u00a0run SWMHYMO v4.02 on Windows 7, please install the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jfsa.com\/swmhymo-software-patch.php\">patch<\/a> available for free. Download the Shymo402.zip folder and unzip it to extract the file (<strong>exe) <\/strong>this file is the Windows 7 patch. You will be replacing the .exe in your program files with this new one.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that SWMHYMO was installed from your installation file (Download) directly on the Windows 7 operating system.<\/li>\n<li>To update SWMHYMO with the patch, please go to your SWMHYMO installation folder and rename the file <strong>exe<\/strong> to <strong>xshymo402.exe<\/strong> file to make a backup copy of the original.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The file is usually found in the program files folder in Windows as such:<\/p>\n<p>C:Program Files(x86)SWMHYMO shymo402.exe<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Then copy the patch downloaded from the website (shymo402.exe), to that same folder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>C:Program Files(x86)SWMHYMO shymo402.exe<\/p>\n<p>SWMHYMO should now run natively on your system.<\/p>\n<p>To test it, please double-click the shell: swmhymo.exe.<\/p>\n<p>Then try to run an example file.<\/p>\n<p>When you run your updated version, your SWMHYMO models printouts (.sum and .out files) will show version 4.05.<\/p>\n<p>This is an indication that you did your update correctly.<\/p>\n<p>Some users have also needed to set the software in compatibility mode, see the following steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Change the compatibility settings for running SWMHYMO by running the SWMHYMO <strong>engine<\/strong> in Windows XP mode.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>-&gt;Right-click on <strong>shymo402.exe<\/strong> (the new one you just copied in the Program folder as per the instructions sent with the patch)<\/p>\n<p>-&gt;Select Properties.<\/p>\n<p>-&gt;Select the Compatibility tab<\/p>\n<p>-&gt;Checkmark and choose: Run this program in compatibility mode for:<\/p>\n<p>Select: \u201cWindows XP (Service Pack 3)\u201d from the dropdown menu<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Change the compatibility settings for running SWMHYMO by running the SWMHYMO <strong>GUI<\/strong> in Windows XP mode.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>-&gt;Right-click on <strong>SWMHYMO.exe<\/strong> (in the same directory)<\/p>\n<p>-&gt;Select Properties.<\/p>\n<p>-&gt;Select the Compatibility tab<\/p>\n<p>-&gt;Checkmark and choose: Run this program in compatibility mode for:<\/p>\n<p>Select: \u201cWindows XP (Service Pack 3)\u201d from the dropdown menu<\/p>\n<p>Test SWMHYMO. If it still doesn\u2019t work, try rebooting your computer then test SWMHYMO again.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li class=\"accordion__item \"><div class=\"accordion__header \" \r\n                id=\"accordion-header-post-1214\"\r\n                role=\"button\"\r\n                aria-expanded=\"false\"\r\n                aria-controls=\"accordion-content-post-1214\"\r\n                data-id=\"post-1214\" \r\n                data-item=\"hfaq-post-1214\" \r\n                style=\"background:#FFFFFF;\" \r\n                data-tags=\"\"\r\n                tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"accordion__title\">Error F6414<\/div><\/div><div id=\"accordion-content-post-1214\" \r\n                class=\"accordion__body\" \r\n                role=\"region\"\r\n                aria-labelledby=\"accordion-header-post-1214\"\r\n                style=\"background:#FCFCFC;\"><p>Changing the compatibility settings to Windows XP on the SWMHYMO.exe shell corrected the issue.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li class=\"accordion__item \"><div class=\"accordion__header \" \r\n                id=\"accordion-header-post-1215\"\r\n                role=\"button\"\r\n                aria-expanded=\"false\"\r\n                aria-controls=\"accordion-content-post-1215\"\r\n                data-id=\"post-1215\" \r\n                data-item=\"hfaq-post-1215\" \r\n                style=\"background:#FFFFFF;\" \r\n                data-tags=\"\"\r\n                tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"accordion__title\">Runtime error 70 : permission denied<\/div><\/div><div id=\"accordion-content-post-1215\" \r\n                class=\"accordion__body\" \r\n                role=\"region\"\r\n                aria-labelledby=\"accordion-header-post-1215\"\r\n                style=\"background:#FCFCFC;\"><p>The error you are getting appears to be related to the installation of the Service Pack 1 for Windows 7. At this point we have no solution to resolve the issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However as a workaround.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of creating a new data file from the SWMHYMO menu, try to open an existing model that already runs in SWMHYMO, modify it to suit your needs and resave it under a different name. Then run it.<\/p>\n<p>A workaround we found for this error is to open an existing input file (.dat), delete the content except for the header and resave under a different name. Then you can enter all the commands you need for your project.<\/p>\n<p>One solution that worked on Win7 Enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>Copy the SWMHYMO folder and content installed in the C:Program Files(86)<\/p>\n<p>Directly to your c drive. As in C:SWMHYMO<\/p>\n<p>Then try running SWMHYMO by double-clicking SWMHYMO.exe from the copy on your C: drive.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li class=\"accordion__item \"><div class=\"accordion__header \" \r\n                id=\"accordion-header-post-1429\"\r\n                role=\"button\"\r\n                aria-expanded=\"false\"\r\n                aria-controls=\"accordion-content-post-1429\"\r\n                data-id=\"post-1429\" \r\n                data-item=\"hfaq-post-1429\" \r\n                style=\"background:#FFFFFF;\" \r\n                data-tags=\"\"\r\n                tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"accordion__title\">Runtime error 6501<\/div><\/div><div id=\"accordion-content-post-1429\" \r\n                class=\"accordion__body\" \r\n                role=\"region\"\r\n                aria-labelledby=\"accordion-header-post-1429\"\r\n                style=\"background:#FCFCFC;\"><p>This error is usually because the dat file input is incorrect. Check the Storm and Start command syntax and the End of file inputs in the dat file andin the separate storm file. Check that all commented lines are still commented out eg that no line return was introduced within a comment and found on its own line without a *<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li class=\"accordion__item \"><div class=\"accordion__header \" \r\n                id=\"accordion-header-post-1430\"\r\n                role=\"button\"\r\n                aria-expanded=\"false\"\r\n                aria-controls=\"accordion-content-post-1430\"\r\n                data-id=\"post-1430\" \r\n                data-item=\"hfaq-post-1430\" \r\n                style=\"background:#FFFFFF;\" \r\n                data-tags=\"\"\r\n                tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"accordion__title\">For Windows 7 enterprise 64bit<\/div><\/div><div id=\"accordion-content-post-1430\" \r\n                class=\"accordion__body\" \r\n                role=\"region\"\r\n                aria-labelledby=\"accordion-header-post-1430\"\r\n                style=\"background:#FCFCFC;\"><p>A solution that worked was to install SWMHYMO on the C drive directly.<br \/>\nAnd when hitting the run button, no input or output file should be open through the interface.<br \/>\nAlso the compatibility settings were changed to run in Windows XP mode.<br \/>\nIf none of the above solutions work, it is necessary to run SWMHYMO on the Windows XP virtual interface.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><\/article><\/section><br \/>\n<section id='' \n                class='helpie-faq accordions faq-toggle custom-styles' \n  style=\"background:#FCFCFC;\"><p>Potential cause: date\/number format (user has Window\u2019s 8, perhaps set to French)<br \/>\nAttempt to replicate the error on Windows 7 (CB Laptop) by changing the settings.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Short time from h:mm tt to hh:mm tt\n<ol>\n<li>No Bug<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Decimal from \u201c.\u201d To \u201c,\u201d <strong>Still works, print Storm duration as 10.00<\/strong> (though MS Excel, for example, has adopted the \u201c,\u201d separator for decimal).<\/li>\n<li>Tried \u201c \u201c (space) for decimal separator (Excel accepts the format)\u2026Storms Throws the same error as the user was experiencing, see below<br \/>\nThe client seems to be getting this error when using the comma separator for decimal numbers in Window\u2019s 8, though I don\u2019t in Windows 7.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Interesting that Windows 7 and 10 can use the comma as a decimal separator and STORMS 2010 works, but apparently Windows 8 does not.<\/p>\n<p>Client changed settings to us \u201c.\u201d As the decimal separator and reports that STORMS 2010 is working correctly now.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><\/article><\/section><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- \/lc-block --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- \/col --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section
